Scrub through the Timeline from frames 228 to 238 to see the animation. Applying Filters to Text Filters are graphic effects that you can apply to text, buttons, and movie clips. Each filter includes settings that you can use to customize its effect. After you type the text for the final birthday message, you’ll apply a Glow filter to the word CHARGE to make it stand out from the normal text around it. 1. Unlock the Birthday Message layer. 2. Select frame 241, and press F6 to create a keyframe. 3. With the Text tool, drag a text box across the right half of the top of the Stage. 4. In the Property inspector, select Static Text from the pop-up menu on the left. 5. Select the following formatting: White (#FFFFFF), Arial, 28 points, Centered (). 6. Type the name of the person you’re making the card for. If you aren’t making it for anyone in particular, type Andrew. Note If the text doesn’t fit on one line, click the square in the upper-right corner of the text box and drag it to the left until the box is large enough for the text. [View full size image] 7. Create a second text box just below the first, and change the formatting to 25 points, Bold, and -2 line spacing. (To edit line spacing, click the Edit Format Options icon.) 8. Type Thought you would get a. 9. Create another text box just below the second one, and change the text size to 48 points and the color to purple (#7F4484). 10. Type CHARGE. 11. Create a final text box below CHARGE. 12. Change the formatting to 25 points and white (#FFFFFF). 13. Type out of this card, and press Enter or Return. 14. Type HAPPY BIRTHDAY! for the last line.
